Meet Mike

Mike Reed founded Voyager Outdoors to help people get more from their vehicles and the backcountry of Colorado and Utah. He studied at the Colorado School of Mines and spent 20 years in construction and construction management. He also served in law enforcement from 2008 to 2018, where he first trained formally in driver training and off-road driving, and since 2020 he has been a trainer with Bill Burke's 4-Wheeling America.

Mike has run overland events since 2018, starting with expos and gatherings for Winnebago Revel van owners. In 2023 he added guided trips and launched Grenadier Gathering West in Moab, Utah. He added a Moab Oktoberfest for Grenadier owners in 2024 and 2025, and in 2026 started Grenadier Gathering East in Windrock, Tennessee. Based in Fruita, Colorado, Voyager runs trips and training across western and northern Colorado and eastern and southern Utah.
